AFS names five new Directors for 2025

The Academy of Financial Services is thrilled to announce the appointment of five new board members for 2025. In this, the associations 40th anniversary year, the extended Board will be better able to meet the increased need for attention to a variety of the association's objectives.

"AFS already had an impressive Board of Directors, but these new members will add significant insights to help us improve our relations to other associations globally and address pressing issues like how we can be more effective in getting peer-reviewed, actionable research into the hand's of more financial planners globally", said Shawn Brayman, President of AFS.

The new Board Members include:

  • Dr. Tom Warschauer of San Diego State University and founding President of AFS in 1985
  • Dan Moisand of Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, LLC and Past Chair of CFP Board and Past President of FPA    
  • Dr. Aaron Gilbert of Auckland University of Technology
  • Thomas Idzorek, Morningstar
  • Dr. David Yeske of Golden Gate University, a past President of FPA and Chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning 

As appointments to the AFS Board, these individuals will serve for 2025. They can extend their service in the AFS elections at the end of 2025 if desired.
