AFS Registration

You must be paid member of AFS to present at the conference or to attend.
If your membership has lapsed, or you were not a paid up member last year, you will have to rejoin as AFS is using a new system. If you are unable to access the registration form but believe you are a member, please first try to log in. If you are unable to then try resetting your password. If that does not work, you will need to re
join HERE. (If you need assistance at any time, please call or email the Conference Office. We will be more than happy to help you!)

      Students - $199
    • Non-members:
      You must join AFS first to access the registration form. Find membership pricing and the membership application HERE.*
      *If you need the membership dues and annual meeting fees together in one consolidated invoice, please select 'Offline payment' as payment method for your membership then contact the office to activate membership. This will allow you access the registration form. Again you will need to choose 'Offline payment'  as your payment option for registering for the annual conference then contact the office. We will provide you with the invoice you need. Alternately, if you just need a receipt with these charges combined for reimbursement, please also contact the office after payment. PLEASE NOTE: This is being very closely monitored to ensure that the membership dues are paid to fulfill the membership requirement of attending an AFS Annual Meeting.

  • For FPA registrants who would like to attend the AFS sessions on Sunday, October 1, 2017, there is an additional cost:
    Professionals - $215 (Early Bird) and $240 
    after 9/1/17
    Students - $100

  • For AFS registrants who would like to attend the FPA sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday , October 3-4, 2017, there is an additional cost:
    Academics / Practitioners - $250
    Students - $99

  • Lauren Schadle, CEO, is the executive director and chief executive officer for the 23,000+/- member Financial Planning Association® (FPA®). In this role, she oversees all of the organization’s member-focused operational and strategic efforts. ​Schadle received her Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Rutgers University and her Master of Science degree in marketing from the University of Colorado. She served as the 2011-12 president of the Colorado Society of Association Executives and currently serves on its board. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and received her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2005.
  • Shannon Pike, CFP®, currently serves on the board of directors as the 2016 President-elect​ for the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals in the country, and includes many others who support the financial planning process. Pike is Vice President at Tanglewood Legacy Advisors, LLC in Houston, TX, an independent firm which develops unique private wealth planning as well as investment strategies and exit planning services to entrepreneurs, executives and private business owners – serving as the Family CFO. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Presenter Info Oral Session Presenters
  • Each presenter will have 25 minutes, including Q&A in a 50-minute session, or 30 minutes, including Q&A in a 60-minute session.
  • Read the agenda carefully to determine if you are scheduled for Sunday, October 1, at the Omni, or Monday, October 2, at the Nashville Convention Center. 
  • The order of the sessions is that "a" is first and "b" is second, which will be made clear when you look at the agenda. 
Poster Session Presenters
  • All posters will be displayed from 5:00-6:30 pm on Sunday, October 1, at the Omni.
  • Prepare your posters to take advantage of the full space provided to you on a professional poster board of 4 ft high and 8 ft long. There is no template you must follow, but please include the AFS logo on your poster.
